North Limburg
North Limburg is a wonderful place to live. Immerse yourself in beautifully unspoiled nature and replenishing tranquility. ’De Groote Peel’, one of the most attractive Dutch highmoors, a former peat-cutting site, is now a national park: an endless expanse of golden yellow rushes and moorland lakes, perfect for a healthy intake of fresh air. e ’De Maasduinen’ National Park, close to Bergen, could not be more of a contrast. Countless hiking trails and cycle paths lead through wide-stretching woods and heathland, along babbling streams and peaceful tarns. Discover for yourself how beautiful and varied nature can be!
Nature and much, much more
You should not forget to explore the other side of North Limburg, however: quaint villages with inviting terraces and a wealth of monuments worth investigating, the River Maas and the lakes. A wide range of leisure and water sports activities are on offer, along with lively towns steeped in history – as well as pastoral serenity. Where else would you find a rose village in full bloom or the most mouth-watering asparagus in all of the Netherlands? In North Limburg and nowhere else!
