Limburg lust for life!

Limburg is a very special province in the southernmost part of the Netherlands, with Valkenburg and Maastricht attracting a great many visitors, but Limburg also has a lot more to offer!
In the North, you can find extensive areas of great natural beauty, offering a wide range of possibilities for hikers and cyclists. The central section of the province contains the ‘Maasplassen’ lake area with a great many recreational opportunities for boating, sailing etc. This is also where the Designer Outlet in Roermond is located, the largest outlet of its kind in Europe. And in the South, you’ll come across Maastricht and Valkenburg, both located in the hill country so unique for the Netherlands. And last but certainly not least, a must for every serious visitor is the Floriade in 2012 which will be staged in Venlo (North Limburg). This World Horticultural Expo is held only once every ten years in the Netherlands.



And it's not all that difficult to explore Limburg's many different facets during a short or long stay. After all, it's only an hour's drive from Maastricht in the southern tip of the province to the northern edge, making it easy to put together a unique programme of your own choice, for example a visit to the Floriade in combination with a visit to Maastricht, Valkenburg or Roermond. Limburg is also an ideal jumping off point for cross-border visits to Germany (Aachen < 20 min. and Cologne < 1hour) as well as Belgium (Antwerp & Brussels < 1 hour).
